New customer tips:
Planning a new kitchen? It’s easier than you may think to get started.
First, draw a simple sketch of your existing kitchen. Measure the longest wall first and then draw the remaining walls. Show where the landmark features are located such as doorways, windows, sinks, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, island and so on.
Also measure the ceiling height, if a soffit is or will be above the cabinets show that as well.
These simple steps will assist our professional design staff with understanding what you like about, or wish to change in your kitchen and help get you on your way to seeing what your new space will look like with our state of the art 3D rendering design software!
Think about what you want your new space to look and feel like!
Perhaps some back-lit glass doors to display those hand painted pasta bowls you protected all the way home from your trip to the Mediterranean last summer or a wine rack to hold a selection of special vintages you’ll share when the time is right. You get the picture now bring us your ideas to make them a reality!
Make use of your space! The convenience of a tall pantry and lazy Susan corner cabinets are a great way to take advantage of your storage space!
Every cook needs a place for their special knives and tools. We can place baking sheet holders and drawer organizers in just the right place to save you time and steps in your new kitchen!

Budgeting:
One simple way to get a ballpark figure as to what your new kitchen may cost is to count the existing upper and lower cabinets and identify how many are shelf cabinets, drawer stacks, lazy Susan’s and so on. A direct replacement of these with new, high quality solid wood cabinets may be less than you think!
Let’s say your kitchen is a typical L shape 10’ x 10’, you may have 6 to 8 lower cabinets and 7-9 upper cabinets. Your direct replacement cost could be as little as $1900!
We are pleased to offer installation in the Portland Metro area for as little as $75 per cabinet!

Think about your current room and any problems you may need to change, and then the bad traffic pattern, dead corner space, awkward layout... these are the things you'll need to consider and correct before you draw it on paper. When you think of good kitchen design, just consider the benefits: smart storage and organization can save you enormous amounts of time and effort every week.
Take a look at our sample plan.
Then come up with a plan of your own! A piece of graph paper and a few measurements can help you get a head-start on the process. This will help give our Specialist the basics to work with when you give them to us. Start by noting the overall dimensions of your current room on your graph paper. Be sure to indicate wall length, floor to ceiling height and height/location of any sockets. Next, mark: the location and dimensions of all windows and doors including trim, indicating which way the doors swing. (It might also be helpful to note size/location of your present cabinets for reference.) Note locations of drains and appliances. And indicate all electrical outlets, switches, heating and air conditioning registers too. Jot down model numbers, sizes and color of appliances: wall oven, cooktop, range, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, sink(s), freezer etc, so you'll know how much space they will take and how the doors open. After all the "un-movables" are noted on your plan, then begin with the main corner and determine cabinet placement for the rest of the room.
This design works well in limited spaces. It offers ease of movement, it's ideal for two cooks working at once, and works well for kitchens that connect to another living area.
U-Shape
A great choice for separating the cooking space from the dining space. It also routes traffic away from the work area.
If you want to keep your kitchen area to a minimum and open up the room, this layout serves your purpose. It's good for entertaining, since the cook is always part of the crowd.
G-Shape
An excellent layout for the solo cook. This design easily accommodates specialty appliances as well.
